Put a Stencil on it

I love stencils, so this was the perfect challenge at The Mixed Media Monthly Challenge.

Had a lot of fun with this one, I used my new pack of water soluble pastel, water color paints and watercolor paint brushes. I started with recreating a vintage print of fish and seashells.
Here is the color roughed on the fish with water soluble pastels, the background was created with water color paints.  LOVE my new water color paint brushes I got them for Christmas best present ever, thanks mom.

Now here is the fish with shading and detailing, so cool to watch it all come together.

Here's the page with finished fish and seashells.

Finished page mixed media galore.
I used a large damask stencil and brown memento ink to add texture around fish and seashells.

Added more texture with white crackle paste and harlequin stencil.

Finally added micro beads, I just saw this on a tutorial by Heike Bruhn.  Mixed microbeads with gel medium then apply through a stencil once gel medium dries only micro beads are visible.  Very cool.

Now for the close ups.

I think this my favorite spot on the page.

Here you can see the mircobeads on the page, I applied them through a stone wall stencil but they just look random.
