Lindy's Stamp Gang- August Caribbean Cruise

Hey 42 followers it has been a busy summer, like summer always is especially in Alberta Canada where we have a very limited summer so you got to make the most of it.  The summer started with my parents camping in my yard for 2 weeks, this helps tons since they watch Alex while i am working.  Then my sister's kids come visit for a few days to visit so it is a very full house. That last two weeks was my holidays and off to Grande Prairie I went, visiting with some family and to see a very old and dear friend who lives way to far away.  The trip was stalled by a visit to the ER when my son's foot looked like it was about to explode, yes I and showing you a pic.

Now my son tells me when he has a sliver, and a big poo why why would he not tell me his foot was really to explode.  Now i know you are thinking how did i not notice its summer he wears sandals- wrong he wears socks all summer sometimes topped off with rubber boots.  I would like to point it was my holidays and i was camping so i had too many drink and now my cousin has to drive us to the ER.  Good Times!

This is my first challenge in a month or more but here it is for Lindy's Stamg Gang  Augsut Challenge
The color challenge, I decided to use greens and blues from the challenge.

I have a thing with bumble bees lately, and i really wanted to use some of my paper clay with Prima molds.

Lots of sparkle with the use of Lindy's fantastic sprays.

I layered chipboard, paper clay molds, paper mesh.  Loving layers lately lots and lots of layers

I started covering a tag with pattern paper then added texture with modeling paste mixed with art ingredients mica powder.  I started with the brown colored modeling paste, once dry I mixed modeling paste with alchemy opal magic blue gold and applied through another stencil.  Dry

I started adding color, Lindy's
Pirate's Plunder Gold
Maidenhair Fern Green
Treasure Island Aqua (my favorite)
Buccaneer Bay Blue

I apply on to tag with a paint brush, so i can puddle and pool.  The wetter the tag is the more the colors blend, sometimes i spray with water so it blends better.

Here is the finished color, the green along the top and brown/blue along the bottom.  I like to color the modeling paste since the color doesn't color the modeling paste.  The shimmer stays on the top but not the color, I don't like white modeling paste.

Now i guess i didn't need to color the modeling paste since i decided to paint the texture.  I wanted the texture to pop, used acrylic paint and a steady hand.

The Prima Molds are super fun, easy to make then once you add color POW! Liquid color is great since i settles into the grooves creates shadows.  I used the same lindy's spray as the coloring of tag, but a bright blue delphinium turquoise for the center.  Layer color on until you get the effect you want.  The final touch was dusting with mica powder.

I painted some chipboard vines, and honeycomb .
I painted with a combination of greens and turquoise using my distress paint dabber.  I like to use the dabber it blends nicely and I like the sponge applicator.  Once dry lightly sand, next  ink with vintage photo distress ink, the ink will settle into the sanded areas but not on the paint.  Gives it a nice distress look.

Layer it all together.  I cut circle mesh with my silhouette I love to tuck these pieces into the layer cluster, its my favorite thing right now.  Finished with a paper bumble bee I fuzzy cut.

Have a great week.  I am off camping again so not sure when i will be back.
